Built in 1954, refurbished in 1972, the MS Fortuna is part of a fleet of offshore support vessels owned by Rederij Groen, a shipping and service company based in Scheveningen, The Netherlands
The Fortuna had been used for the occasional tender service (and fans' trips) to the offshore radio ships during the 1970s.
Radio 10 Gold celebrated its 10th birthday - and remembered the offshore stations - on 8th August 1998 by transmitting from the Fortuna, anchored off the coast of Scheveningen and IJmuiden (The Netherlands).
